Southern Utah Plein Air Painting Workshop
August 26-29, 2009
There is no substitute for painting from life.
This workshop will focus on the elements of art that can be best learned on location.
Demonstrations and in-depth instruction will improve your observation skills and
your ability to get valuable information onto your canvas in an organized, well designed
and efficient way. This enjoyable workshop will be held in the Mt. Carmel, Zion National
Park, Kanab Area of Utah. We have chosen a different time of year this year in order
to take advantage of the beauties of the changing season. The Thuderbird Foundation
has also invited us to attend the art lectures and the wet painting sale featuring
many internationally recognized artists. Join us for a weekend of valuable painting
instruction, warm weather and breath-taking vistas.
Class format will include:
• lectures
• variety of subject matter
• painting demonstrations
• learn how to observe without bias
• art critique sessions
Class open to all levels, however, some painting experience will be helpful.
Fee: $200 (does not include art
materials, food or lodging)
Class enrollment will be limited to ensure personal instruction.
