David Koch - Artist

During July and August of 2010 I had the opportunity to work with Rainer Maria Latzke on an exciting decorative painting project. I was tutored in the fine art of "Trompe l'oeil" painting. Trompe l'oeil means "Fool the Eye". The "Old Masters" have used the techniques of fresco and illusionary painting for thousands of years to enhance and beautify the living spaces of the noble and the wealthy.

These skills included surface preparation, perspective, transcribing, airbrushing, marbleizing, making gradations with acylic, masking, gilding and a lot of handwork.
