Course 2

Studio Painting
From Plein Air to Masterpiece

This course will cover elements 3and 4 of the 4 elements of quality art: Shapes and Edges

I am very excited to host a 3-day workshop which will focus on the nuts and bolts of creating a studio painting from plein air sketches and photographs. In the studio we can take the time nessesary to compose and create a masterpiece with the information we have collected in the field. We will focus on the elements - Shape and Edges, which include drawing, perspective, composition, design, brushwork, edge relationships and interpretation. I will demonstrate daily as well as show examples of other artists work to reinforce the various concepts. Marketing your art will also be covered.
