"Plein Air Painting - Acurately Capturing Your Perceptions"

There is no substitute for painting from life. This workshop will focus on the
elements of art that can be best learned on location - Value and Color. Demonstrations
and in-depth instruction will improve your observation skills and your ability to
get valuable information onto your canvas in an organized, well designed and efficient
way. The workshop will be held in Torrey Utah and nearby Capitol Reef National Park.
Please join us for 3 days of valuable painting instruction, warm weather and breath-taking
vistas.
Class format will include:
• lectures
• variety of subject matter including painting at night
• painting demonstrations
• learn how to observe without bias
• art critique sessions
Class open to all ability levels, however, some painting experience will be helpful.
Fee: $450 (does not include lodging or food). A $200 deposit will reserve your space. Deposits are non-refunable but may be applied to future workshops.
Class enrollment will be limited to 15 people to ensure personal instruction.

Brushes – Bristle Flats: 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, 1 inch
Oil Paint (minimum)– Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow light, Cadmium Red Light, French
Ultramarine Blue, Ivory Black (Bring other colors with which you are comfortable)
Canvas panels, canvas glued to board or gessoed board – At least twelve - 6"
